... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening...
A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening.
A very tight pressure gradient will persist across the entire four state region through this evening as a very strong upper level low pressure system moves east across the Mississippi River through the remainder of this afternoon. As a result... west northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph... with gusts to 35 mph will continue through the remainder of the afternoon. These gusty winds should begin to subside after sunset as this storm system departs the area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
