Broken line of strong thunderstorms is located across the eastern parishes of Louisiana and western counties of Mississippi. Some storms may become severe with the main threats of damaging straight line winds...small hail...and very heavy rainfall. Rainfall rates per hour will be up to an inch in locations of heaviest downpours. Locations outside of the heaviest activity will still receive a quick quarter to half inch per hour. Strong thunderstorm activity will move eastward and across central Mississippi by 2pm this afternoon.

* Flood Warning for the Boeuf River near Fort Necessity * from late Friday night until further notice. * At 10:00 am Thursday the stage was 47.0 feet. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 50.0 feet. * Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage by Saturday morning and will continue to rise to near 52.0 feet by Monday morning. * Impact... at 50.0 feet... widespread flooding of farm and agricultural land is occurring along and near the river.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* portions of southeast Arkansas... northeast Louisiana and Mississippi.
* Through this afternoon.
* Heavy rainfall is expected to develop this morning ahead of the cold front... and last through this afternoon. Rainfall totals of two to four inches can be expected... and this will fall on top of soils that received heavy rain of up to an inch Wednesday. Heavier rain amounts may occur in stronger thunderstorms that develop. Rapidly rising water will be possible in the watch area... especially in low lying areas and in areas where drainage is poor.

A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this evening.
South winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph will be possible today associated with a strong low pressure system approaching the region. These winds will abruptly shift to the west as a squall line passes through the area from late this morning into the afternoon. The west winds should decrease this evening to around 15 to 20 mph.
