A cold front has moved through southeast Texas and southern Louisiana today. Shower activity is now located from St Mary... Iberia parishes in south central Louisiana and extends out into the Gulf to beyond 60 miles of the southeast Texas coast. Showers this evening are moving to the northeast.

The Flood Warning continues for the Atchafalaya River at Morgan City. * Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 7:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 4.8 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * The flood stage is 4.0 feet. * Forecast... the river is expected to remain near 4.9 feet throughout the next several days. Additional rises may be possible thereafter. * Impact... at 5.0 feet... floodwall gates will be closed to protect against higher stages. Vessel traffic will be affected by stronger river current and vessel traffic safety rules will be strictly enforced by the U. S. Coast Guard.

* three to eight inches of rain fell across the region last night. While most area roadways are open... water has filled The Ditches. Additional rain through this afternoon could cause some water to overflow onto the roads.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported. Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected. However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
