The coastal flood advisory is now in effect until 8 am CDT
Thursday.
A large and prolonged east to southeast fetch of winds of 20 to 25 knots
will continue through the night. This will help create some water
piling along the coast. The result will be above normal tides for
coastal southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana. Tides will run
near 1 1/2 feet above normal with the potential for total tide
values of 3 to 3.5 feet MLLW (mean lower low water) during high
tide times late tonight and early Thursday morning.
Here is the high tide information for tonight and Thursday morning
along the coast:
At Cameron... high tide at 6:16 am.
At Sabine Pass... high tide at 7:12 am.
At Vermilion Bay... high tide at 7:58 am.
At stages of 3 to 3.5 feet MLLW... sections of Highway 87 between
Port Arthur and Sabine Pass in Jefferson County Texas will have
water approaching the roadway. Across Cameron Parish... water will
approach Highway 82 with low spots across this Road experiencing
minor puddling of water. Across the remainder of Vermilion...
Iberia ... and St. Mary parishes... water will approach secondary
Parish roads.
