The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Natchez
* until further notice.
* At 9:00 PM Monday the stage was 49.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 48 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to a crest near 51 feet by
Saturday July 18.
* Impact... at 51 feet... water is covering the roads in old downtown
area of Fort Adams.
* Impact... at 48 feet... Carthage Point Road becomes impassable.

The high temperature at Meridian yesterday only reached 74. This
breaks the old record for the daily low maximum temperature of 75
set in 1940.
