The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Coushatta, Louisiana.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 900 am Saturday the stage was 32.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 31 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 33.0 feet by
the end of this may. Additional rises remain possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 34.0 feet... major flooding occurs. Severe backwater
flooding occurs from the confluence of the Red River with Loggy
Bayou, from upstream to below Lake Bistineau. Cattle and equipment
should be moved to higher ground, and preparations made for major

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River at Shreveport, Louisiana.
* From Wednesday afternoon until further notice... or until the
warning is cancelled.
* At 900 am Saturday the stage was 28.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 30 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Wednesday early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 31.5 feet by next Saturday morning.
* Impact... at 31.0 feet... russel Road will be overflowed and closed
between Blanchard Highway and I-220 in North Shreveport.

... The Flood Warning extended until Sunday evening... the Flood
Warning continues for
the Cypress bayou at Wallace Lake south of Shreveport, Louisiana.
* Until Sunday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 500 am Friday the pool stage was 152.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood pool stage is 151 feet.
* Forecast... the lake will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Sunday morning. Also Wallace Lake crested at 152.45 feet during
early this Friday morning during the wee hours.
* Impact... at 151.0 feet... high water will overflow and result in some
significant flooding on some secondary roadways around the southern
Kingston Road area. Livestock near the lake should be moved to
higher ground.

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southwest Arkansas...
northwest Louisiana... southeast Oklahoma and Texas... including
the following areas... in southwest Arkansas... Columbia...
Hempstead... Howard... Lafayette... Little River... Miller...
Nevada and Sevier. In northwest Louisiana... Bienville...
Bossier... Caddo... Claiborne... De Soto... Natchitoches... Red
River... Sabine and Webster. In southeast Oklahoma... McCurtain.
In Texas... Angelina... Bowie... Camp... Cass... Cherokee...
Franklin... Gregg... Harrison... Marion... Morris... Nacogdoches...
Panola... Red River... Rusk... Sabine... San Augustine... Shelby...
Smith... Titus... Upshur and wood.

* From late tonight through Monday morning

* showers and thunderstorms will increase Sunday morning over East
Texas and southeast Oklahoma... and spread east northeast across
southwest Arkansas and north Louisiana Sunday afternoon and
night. Locally heavy rainfall is possible from the stronger
storms... falling over already saturated grounds from heavy
rainfall that has fallen in the last week. Rainfall amounts of
one to three inches... with isolated higher amounts... are
expected... with this heavy rainfall resulting in increased
runoff and the potential for flash flooding.

* Low lying and poor drainage areas... especially in the vicinity
of rapidly rising creeks... will be most prone to flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
