	Freezing Fog Advisory
Statement as of 3:01 AM CST on December 22, 2009 ... Freezing fog advisory in effect until 10 am EST /9 am CST/ this morning... The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a freezing fog advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EST /9 am CST/ this morning. * Timing: freezing fog has formed over south central Kentucky this morning and is expected to increase in coverage into portions of north central Kentucky and the Bluegrass region of Kentucky through sunrise. Temperatures will begin to warm and fog will dissipate toward mid morning. * Visibility: widespread visibilities of 1-2 miles will be present in freezing fog this morning. The most fog prone areas such as river valleys and other low lying areas may see visibilities less than 1/4 mile. * Impacts: freezing fog will cause reduced visibilities and slick spots or black ice on roadways. Drivers should be extremely cautious on the roadways this morning. Use low beam headlights in areas of thick fog... and slow down to avoid losing control of your vehicle in slick areas. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A freezing fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down... use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also... be alert for frost on bridge decks causing slippery roads.
