Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:45 AM EST on March 05, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST this
afternoon...

* periods of snow... heavy at times... will lighten and taper off
by early afternoon.

* 4 to 6 inches of additional snow should fall through early
afternoon... bringing storm total snow and sleet accumulations
to the 11 to 14 inch range.

* Snow accumulations of this magnitude will make travel
difficult to treacherous. In addition... the heavy wet nature
of this snow will cause stress on weak structures and could
also lead to downed power lines and trees with some power
outages possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and sleet means severe
winter weather conditions are expected. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 4:02 AM EST on March 05, 2015

... A Flood Warning for rain and snowmelt remains in effect until 400
PM EST Thursday for Lee... Fleming... Menifee... Powell... Montgomery...
Morgan... Elliott... Bath... Wolfe... Estill and Rowan counties...

At 402 am EST... a mixture of sleet and snow was ongoing... and
expected to change over to all snow this morning... before tapering
off by late this afternoon. However... runoff from heavy rainfall and
snowmelt that occurred Tuesday night and Wednesday has resulted in
flooding of some area creeks and streams within the warning. Expect
flooding to continue in these locations through at least this
afternoon.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Mount Sterling... Morehead... West Liberty... Stanton... Irvine...
Flemingsburg... Owingsville... Beattyville... Sandy Hook... Frenchburg...
Campton... Marshall... Henry... Lewis... Jeffersonville... Camargo... Clay
City... Ravenna... Wellington and Sharpsburg.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
