Through noon today...showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and move southeast across the quad state area. Some storms have a history of producing torrential rains with localized flooding reported in southern Illinois. Some communities that may be affected by the storms include New Madrid Missouri...Mount Vernon...annna...the Rend Lake recreational area...Harrisburg and Carmi Illinois...Fort Branch and Evansville Indiana...as well as Mayfield...Madisonville and the Land Between The Lakes recreational area in Kentucky. Hourly rainfall amounts will range from a couple hundredths of an inch in the light showers...up to as much as 1.5 inches per hour where torrential rains may occur.
