The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a dense fog advisory... which is in effect until 9 am EDT this morning.
Dense fog will cause widespread visibilities below one quarter of a mile for the rest of the night... .especially in the valley locations. The dense fog will affect the morning commute... but will begin to lift around or shortly after sunrise... with visibilities improving by 9 am.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. Motorists are urged to slow down... use low beams... and to leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

The cloud cover and precipitation held the high temperature about 10 degrees below normal at the Jackson Julian Carroll Airport Wednesday. The high temperature of only 71 degrees was recorded... which breaks the previous record of 77 degrees set back in 1985.
