... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 300 PM EDT for
central Perry... southeastern Clay and Leslie counties...

At 1151 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches
of rain has fallen across portions of the warned area since 11 am.
Up to another inch of rain is expected to occur between 12 and 1 PM.
Excessive runoff will flash flooding of creeks and streams...
particularly in low lying areas.

Hyden... Daley... Bear Branch... Queendale... Roark... Essie...
Sizerock... Stinnett... hosea... Wendover... Spurlock... Hoskinston...

The National Weather Service in Jackson KY has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
central Perry County in southeastern Kentucky...
southeastern Clay County in southeastern Kentucky...
Leslie County in southeastern Kentucky...

* until 245 PM EDT

* at 1050 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated slow-moving thunderstorms
containing very heavy rain across the area. Up to an inch of rain
has fallen across portions of the area since 10:30 am. Up to
another inch and a half of rain is expected to fall through noon.
Excessive runoff will cause minor flooding of small streams and
creeks... particularly in low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Stinnett... Wendover... Bulan... Mosley Bend... Hoskinston... Panco...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east central Kentucky... northeast Kentucky... south
central Kentucky and southeast Kentucky... including the
following areas... in east central Kentucky... Bath... Elliott...
Estill... Fleming... Menifee... Montgomery... Powell and Rowan. In
northeast Kentucky... Johnson and Martin. In south central
Kentucky... Laurel... McCreary... Pulaski... Rockcastle... Wayne
and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky... Bell... Breathitt... Clay...
   Floyd... Harlan... Jackson... Knott... Knox... Lee... Leslie...
Letcher... Magoffin... Morgan... Owsley... Perry... Pike and Wolfe.

* It is in effect through early this evening.

* Showers and thunderstorms will affect much of the area today and
early this evening. The high water content in the air will
likely result in times of torrential downpours. This rainfall in
conjunction with the heavy rains of the past couple of days may
lead to localized flash flooding.
