Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 11:45 AM EDT on March 15, 2014
... Wintry mix expected Sunday evening through Monday morning...
A low pressure system will move to the south of the area on Sunday
evening. As it does it will bring a mix of rain... snow... sleet and
freezing rain to the area. The wintry weather will start along and
north of I 64 Sunday afternoon and then work its way to the south
through Sunday night. As the wintry mix moves to the south... it will
change over to all snow. Two to three inches of snow and sleet are
possible along and north of I 64. Just to the south of I 64... up to
an inch of snow and sleet is possible... with locations south of the
hal Rogers Parkway and Highway 80 corridors seeing up to one half inch
of snow and sleet. Due to warmer Road temperatures... the greatest
danger will be on overpasses and on roadways that are normally shaded
during the day. The worst Road conditions will occur along and north
of I 64 where the heaviest snow and sleet falls.
