Statement as of 12:30 PM CDT on March 21, 2010 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT this afternoon... A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * Timing... snow will continue fall overnight and this morning... then gradually taper off late this afternoon. * Total snow accumulations... additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible through the afternoon. Storm total accumulations of 7 to 9 inches are expected. * Winds... north winds of 15 to 20 mph will continue through the afternoon. * Impacts... fallen and falling snow combined with strong winds may reduce visibilities and make for hazardous travel conditions as snow blows across roadways. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Wintry precipitation will accumulate in the affected areas causing hazardous driving conditions. Those with travel plans are advised to choose an alternate Route... or should use extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.
