Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 4:49 PM MST on November 12, 2009
The first significant winter storm of the season may impact southwest Kansas Sunday and Monday. This storm will have access to plentiful Gulf of Mexico moisture as well as air cold enough to support snow. If the storm is as strong as expected... strong north winds will accompany snowfall across western Kansas. It is too early to determine just how much snow will fall with this storm and where the worst of the storm will occur. However... significant snow accumulations are possible across southwest Kansas Sunday into Monday if the storm tracks as currently forecast just south of the Kansas/Oklahoma border. Stay tuned for updated forecast information regarding this potential winter storm.
