Statement as of 11:26 AM CST on December 22, 2009 ... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Wednesday evening through Friday morning... A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Wednesday evening through Friday morning. * Timing... rain and freezing rain will change to snow Wednesday night. Moderate to heavy snow is then possible from Thursday through Friday morning. * Total snow accumulations... snowfall accumulations of six or more inches will be possible by Friday morning. * Winds... winds will increase to 25 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph on Thursday... causing reduced visibilities as well as blowing and drifting snow. * Impacts... travel will become extremely dangerous and difficult Thursday and Thursday night. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Remember... a Winter Storm Watch means conditions are favorable for hazardous winter weather in and close to the watch area. |
