Statement as of 2:44 PM CST on November 12, 2009 ... Wind Advisory now in effect until 7 PM CST this evening... The Wind Advisory is now in effect until 7 PM CST this evening. Southerly winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts around 45 mph can be expected through the early evening across central and parts of south central Kansas. Strong Crosswinds will be possible along west to east highways. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph and/or wind gusts over 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Statement as of 8:10 am CST on November 12, 2009 ... Record warmest low temperature set at Russell for November 11th... The low temperature at Russell Municipal Airport was 50 degrees on Wednesday November 11th. This set a record warmest low for the date breaking the previous warmest low of 48 degrees set in 2007.
