Windy. Freezing rain or snow in the morning...then snow in the afternoon. Blowing snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation around 3 inches. Highs around 30. North winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to around 35 mph increasing to 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 45 mph in the afternoon.
Colder...windy...snow. Blowing snow. Snow accumulation of 4 to 5 inches. Lows around 11. Northwest winds 30 to 35 mph with gusts to around 45 mph. Wind chill readings as cold as 8 below.
Christmas Day

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow... which is in effect from 6 am Thursday to 6 PM CST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
* Timing... rain will rapidly change to snow early Thursday morning.
* Total snow accumulations... snowfall accumulations of six to 10 inches... with locally higher amounts... will be possible by Friday afternoon. Heavy snow will move eastward through the day Thursday affecting all areas by Thursday afternoon.
* Winds... northerly winds will increase to 25 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph on Thursday into Friday. This will result in reduced visibilities... with near blizzard conditions at times... as well as blowing and drifting snow.
* Impacts... travel will become nearly impossible Thursday through Friday. Significant drifting is likely.
