Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 9:53 PM CDT on May 24, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 am CDT Monday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Kansas... including the following
areas... Allen... Chautauqua... Elk... Greenwood... Labette...
Montgomery... Neosho... Wilson and Woodson.

* Until 7 am CDT Monday.

* Showers and thunderstorms will remain possible through tonight.
Rain may be moderate to heavy at times. With grounds already
saturated... any additional rainfall will go into runoff and will
likely result in flooding. Minor and moderate river flooding is
already forecast for some of the rivers in southeast Kansas.

* Those with outdoor plans along creeks and rivers need to
monitor the weather situation closely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
