Statement as of 9:43 AM CST on November 16, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 PM CST this evening... The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect until 6 PM CST this evening. Areas of light snow will affect portions of Butler... Chase and Greenwood counties today. Slushy accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are likely... with localized amounts of 3 to 4 inches possible. Accumulations will be confined mainly to grassy and elevated surfaces. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of winter weather will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities. Allow extra time to reach your destinations.

Snow melted as it fell but the ground did become white. 11/16/2009 0940 am El Dorado, Butler County. Snow e0.2 inch, reported by public. Just a trace of accumulation in El Dorado... currently snowing light to moderate.
