The National Weather Service in Goodland has issued a frost advisory... which is in effect from 4 am MDT /5 am CDT/ to 7 am MDT /8 am CDT/ Sunday. A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ this evening.
Northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph continue to spread across the area from west to east. Areas that did not receive rainfall over the past few days may experience some reduced visibilities in blowing dust. A slow weakening of the winds wont take place til shortly after sunset.
During the Sunday morning hours... light winds and clearing skies combined with a cooler airmass will give way to minimum temperatures dropping near freezing over much of the tri-state area. A frost advisory has been issued for these areas.
A Wind Advisory means that strong and gusty winds may affect travel... especially light weight or high profile vehicles. Be prepared for sudden wind gusts which may result in loss of vehicle control.
A frost advisory is issued when frost is expected to develop during the growing season. Those with agricultural interests in the advisory area should consider harvesting or protecting tender vegetation. Also... potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside away from the cold.
