... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Saturday evening through
Monday morning...

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Kansas and
northeast Kansas... including the following areas... in east
central Kansas... Anderson... Coffey... Douglas... Franklin...
Lyon... Morris... Osage... Shawnee and Wabaunsee. In northeast
Kansas... Brown... Jackson and Jefferson.

* From Saturday evening through Monday morning

* periods of moderate to heavy rain will pass through the area
Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon. Rainfall amounts of
two to four inches are expected to be common... with local
amounts over five inches possible. With wet ground conditions
and elevated river levels from recent rainfall... flash flooding
and river flooding may result.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible but not
imminent in the watch area. Persons in the watch area are advised
to check preparedness requirements... keep informed... and be ready
