... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 1 am CDT Tuesday through
Wednesday morning...
The National Weather Service in Wichita has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Kansas and
south central Kansas... including the following areas... in
central Kansas... Ellsworth... McPherson... Rice and Saline. In
south central Kansas... Reno.
* From 1 am CDT Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
* Scattered to numerous light showers will persist across central
and south central Kansas this evening. The rain is expected to
become more widespread later tonight and Tuesday morning. The
rain could be quite heavy at times especially Tuesday morning
into Tuesday afternoon. The rain may continue across the watch
area Tuesday night. Total rainfall amounts will generally range
2 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
* This rainfall will result in very moist soil conditions... and any
additional heavy rainfall will likely become run-off quickly and
could result in minor flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.
