* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Clay County in west central Missouri... eastern Leavenworth County in northeast Kansas... northern Johnson County in east central Kansas... northwestern Jackson County in west central Missouri... southern Platte County in west central Missouri... Wyandotte County in northeast Kansas...

* until 400 am CDT Thursday

* at 955 PM CDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler radar estimated rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with much of this falling in the last hour. Additionally... emergency management has reported heavy street flooding in Tonganoxie with with six to 8 inches of water flowing on some streets the storms that have moved through.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to occur...especially along small streams and near low water crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding include...Basehor...Bonner Springs...Claycomo...Courtney...De Soto...Edwardsville...Excelsior Springs...Gladstone... Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small creeks and streams...urban areas...highways...streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
