... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 8 PM this evening to
6 PM CST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for hazardous winter weather... which is in
effect from 8 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Monday.

* Timing... widespread light to moderate snow will spread northeast
across central and south-central Kansas this evening... coming
to an end generally west of the Flint Hills later tonight.
Behind the snow... widespread freezing drizzle is likely from
late tonight into Monday afternoon.

* Snow accumulations... of 1 to 2 inches are likely.

* Ice accumulations... should remain less than one-tenth of an
inch... but will likely be enough to create hazardous travel
conditions.

* Impacts... include slick roads from the snow and freezing
drizzle.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of winter weather
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads
and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.

zero... as a historic Arctic outbreak continued to put a
strangle hold on the Great Plains. The high was 8
degrees... which yielded a daily average of 7 below to
make February 12th wichita's 5th coldest day on record.
