... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
6 am CST Sunday...
The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for hazardous winter weather... which is in
effect from midnight tonight to 6 am CST Sunday. The Winter Storm
Watch is no longer in effect.
* Timing... a winter storm system will begin to impact the region
for late tonight through Saturday night... with accumulations of
snow... sleet... and freezing rain expected.
* Snow accumulations... 2 to 5 inches will be possible across the
advisory area by late Saturday night. The heaviest snow is
expected late Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening. Some
sleet is also expected to mix with the snow on Saturday.
* Ice accumulations... up to two tenths of an inch is possible late
tonight through Saturday for locations primarily along and south
of a Kingman to Augusta line
* impacts... the approaching winter storm will make roadways very
slick and hazardous for travel during the weekend.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of winter weather
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads
and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
