* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Indiana and Ohio...including the following areas...in Indiana...Fayette in...Franklin in... Union in and Wayne. In Ohio...Auglaize...Butler...Champaign... Clark...Darke...Greene...Hardin...Logan...Mercer...Miami... Montgomery...Preble...Shelby and Warren.

* Through this evening

* previous rainfall has resulted in saturated ground across west central Ohio...east central Indiana...the Miami Valley and portions of southwest Ohio. Additional heavy rain is possible today. This may result in flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flooding of small streams, creeks and other drainage areas is possible within the watch area. People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued.

...Columbus NOAA Weather Radio transmitter remains off the air...

The NOAA all-hazards weather radio transmitter kig-86 in Columbus Ohio / frequency 162.550 mhz / remains off the air. Replacement parts are on order and technicians are working to try to bypass the problem. At this time there is no estimate on when the transmitter will return to full operational service...but it likely will not be until Saturday at the earliest. We apologize for any inconvenience.
