Showers and thunderstorms will spread east southeast from the Illinois River and become more scattered as it reaches near I-55 by 11 am and to I-57 by 2 PM. The showers and thunderstorms should mainly stay north of a Rushville to Decatur line through early afternoon. But scattered thunderstorms will develop during the afternoon across the areas and a few storms could become strong to severe with gusty winds and hail. Thunderstorms with heavy rains and frequent lightning will affect Fulton...Knox...Stark...Marshall... Peoria counties and move into Woodford and Tazewell counties through noon. Expect rainfall amounts up to a half inch in 15 minutes over the Illinois River valley and could cause ponding of water on roadways.
