Statement as of 2:47 PM CST on December 17, 2009 The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a * Flood Warning for... the Fox River in northeastern La Salle County in north central Illinois... * until 245 PM CST Friday... * at 240 PM CST... LaSalle County emergency management reported an ice jam on the lower Fox River near Norway. The river was rising above bankfull... and may continue to rise this afternoon. Ice jams can result in rapid fluctuations in water levels. Residents along the Fox River should be alert for rapid changes in water levels. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. People along creeks and streams should take immediate action to protect life and property. Do not drive across flooded roads. Lat...
