Statement as of 10:27 AM CST on February 09, 2010 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until midnight CST tonight... ... Winter Storm Warning is cancelled... The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect until midnight CST tonight. The Winter Storm Warning has been cancelled. * Snow will gradually decrease this afternoon and evening. Additional snow amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. * Widespread snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches are expected by late tonight. * Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph this afternoon will cause areas of drifting and localized blowing snow... and may reduce visibility at times. * Roads will remain slick and snow covered into this evening. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Be careful when traveling... especially in open areas. |
