The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a
* Flood Watch for a portion of central Illinois... including the following counties... Cass... Fulton... Logan... Mason... Menard... Morgan... Sangamon... Schuyler and Scott.
* From midnight CST tonight through Tuesday afternoon.
* An upper level disturbance will bring heavy rain to portions of central Illinois. Current indications are that 2 to 4 inches of rain will be possible... especially southwest of a Canton to Springfield line... through late Tuesday.
* This amount of rain will likely cause area rivers to begin rising. Portions of the spoon... Sangamon... and Mackinaw rivers may approach flood stage later this week. Portions of the Illinois River are still in flood from the heavy rain a couple weeks ago... and this upcoming rain will likely cause renewed rises.
