Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:09 AM CST on February 28, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6 PM this evening to
6 PM CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 PM CST Sunday.

* Timing... snow will begin to spread into central Illinois this
afternoon. However... the heaviest snow accumulations are
expected tonight into early Sunday afternoon.

* Accumulations... 4 to 6 inches are likely over much of the
area... with the heavier totals in a corridor from near
Jacksonville east through Decatur to near Danville and Paris.
Some locally higher amounts will be possible. Further
north... amounts of 3 to 5 inches are expected around
Bloomington... Peoria... and Havana.

* Wind... speeds are expected to range from 5 to 10 mph through the
period... thus blowing and drifting snow are not expected to be a
problem.

* Impacts... roads will quickly become snow covered and slippery
late this afternoon and especially this evening. Visibility will
be reduced to less than a mile in the heavier snow tonight and
Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
