* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
northeastern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...

* until 315 PM CDT

* at 257 PM CDT... a severe thunderstorm was located over Rogers
Park... or over Montrose Harbor... moving east at 45 mph. There have
been numerous reports of large hail with this storm.

Hazard... Golf Ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

Source... trained weather spotters.

Impact... people and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs... siding... windows and vehicles. Expect
           wind damage to roofs... siding and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Chicago... Evanston... Montrose Harbor and Rogers Park.

At 300 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Logan Square to
Humboldt Park... and moving east at 35 mph. These will move across
portions of downtown Chicago.

Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Chicago... Lincoln Park... Navy pier...
Humboldt Park... Lakeview... Logan Square...
