An area of showers and a few thunderstorms extending from Edwardsville through Sparta Illinois in randloph County continues to move southeast at 25 to 30 mph. The back edge of the showers stretched Granite City to milstadt and is expected to move into the eastern parts of St. Clair County between 1130 and 1145 am CDT. Little if any showers and thunderstorm activity are expected in the St. Louis Metro area through 3:00 PM CDT. There still remains a chance for showers and thunderstorms to redevlop later this afternoon or early evening.
