Boone Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 6:12 PM CST on November 24, 2014

...Some slippery travel conditions possible this evening...

Precipitation has diminished to scattered light snow showers and flurries across northern Illinois early this evening. However... some roads remain wet or slush covered and will likely become icy in some spots as temperatures continue to fall below freezing and drop through the 20s this evening. Areas which saw an inch or two of wet snow accumulation today...mainly west and north of Chicago...will be especially likely to develop icy patches on area roads.

In addition...patchy freezing drizzle is possible especially along and south of Interstate 80 early this evening. This will make lightly traveled or untreated roads icy. In any case... exercise caution if traveling across northern Illinois this evening. Be prepared for suddenly changing Road conditions...and icy or slippery spots.
