Winnebago Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 9:01 PM CST on November 27, 2014

...Brief period of snow early Friday morning...

A two to three hour period of mainly light snow is expected early Friday morning across far northern Illinois from Rockford and Belvidere to the northwestern and northern Chicago Metro area. The snow looks to be primarily between 4 and 8 am in Rockford...while between 6 and 9 am from Woodstock to Waukegan. While the snow is mainly expected to be light...very brief periods of moderate intensity snow leading to quick reductions in visibility are possible. Though any accumulation is forecast to be under one inch and likely closer to a dusting...cold temperatures in the lower to mid teens to start the day may help make some roadways slick as they become lightly snow covered. Motorists in far northern Illinois should plan for possible longer travel times.
