Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:30 AM MST on March 02, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to
5 PM MST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for moderate snow and blowing snow... which is in
effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 5 PM MST Tuesday.

* Timing... light snow will develop during the late afternoon and
early evening... then intensify overnight. 2 to 8 inches are
possible at all elevations. The heaviest snow will be on the
high elevation passes heading into Wyoming and the Pine Creek
Pass between Swan Valley and Driggs.

* Main impact... moderate snow... combined with drifting snow... will
make travel difficult... especially over high elevation passes.

* Locations include... from Island Park to Soda Springs... and from
Interstate 15 to the Wyoming border.

* Other impacts... blowing and drifting snow can make even recently
plowed roads quickly impassable.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Special Statement
Statement as of 2:42 PM MST on March 01, 2015

... Cold front Monday night and Tuesday morning will bring
scattered snow showers to southeast Idaho...

A surface cold front moving from Canada southward along The
Divide Monday night and Tuesday morning will bring 1 to 3 inches
of snow to the mountain areas. This is not a strong storm
system... but snow may accumulate around one inch early Tuesday
morning along the Interstate 15 corridor between Idaho Falls and
Pocatello. Winds from the west-southwest at 10 to 20 mph will
shift to the north as the cold front passes. Some drifting of snow
is possible. Check the latest weather forecasts and be prepared
for some winter driving Tuesday morning.
