Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:00 AM PST on December 27, 2014

...Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 4 am PST Sunday...

* valley snow accumulations...3 to 5 inches of snow for communities in eastern Washington including Colville...Deer Park...Newport...Rosalia...and Pullman. 5 to 9 inches for the following communities in Idaho...Sandpoint...Bonners Ferry...Coeur D'Alene...Plummer...and Moscow.

* Mountain snow accumulations...5 to 10 inches of snow. The highest amounts will fall over the mountains in Idaho where 7 to 10 inches will be a good bet. Amounts should be less in northeast Washington where 5 to 8 inches will be possible in the mountains around Chewelah and Metaline Falls.

* Winds...for the Palouse this evening...southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph may produce localized blowing and drifting snow. By evening...the snow may become wet and heavy which may limit the potential for drifting.

* Timing...light snow will develop this morning and increase through the day on Saturday. The heaviest accumulations are expected Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

* Impacts...heavy snow will result in snow covered roadways. Treacherous driving conditions will likely occur during a busy Holiday travel period. Localized blowing snow will be a possibly over portions of the Idaho and Washington Palouse including Highway 95 from Moscow to Coeur D'Alene...and Highway 195 from Pullman to Rosalia.
