... Thunderstorms redeveloping...
A narrow band of thunderstorms was redeveloping along Interstate 80
between West Liberty and Geneseo. These storms were forming over an
area that had recieved between an 1.0 and 1.5 inches of rain earlier
this morning. Periods of heavy rain on already wet ground will
cause some flooding of poorly drained areas and flooding of small
streams and ditches. Urban areas will also see some flooding of
streets as storm drains become overwhelmed at times by the runoff.
Another line of storms west of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City will move
east into the area around noon. These storms could bring additional
heavy rains to the area.
