Statement as of 10:52 PM CDT on July 10, 2009 The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... southeastern Benton County in east central Iowa... northeastern Iowa County in east central Iowa... northern Johnson County in east central Iowa... southern Linn County in east central Iowa... * until 1145 PM CDT. * At 1049 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter size hail. This storm was located approximately between Blairstown and Norway... or 9 miles northeast of Marengo... and moving east at 30 mph. * The severe thunderstorm will be near... Walford around 1100 PM CDT... Fairfax around 1105 PM CDT... Swisher around 1115 PM CDT... Shueyville around 1120 PM CDT... Ely around 1125 PM CDT... Solon and 6 miles south of Mount Vernon around 1140 PM CDT... This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 4 and 23. Precautionary/preparedness actions... This is a dangerous storm.
