Cedar County in east central Iowa... this includes the city of Tipton... southern Clinton County in east central Iowa... eastern Johnson County in east central Iowa... southeastern Linn County in east central Iowa... Muscatine County in east central Iowa... this includes the city of Muscatine... Scott County in east central Iowa... this includes the cities of... Davenport... Bettendorf... northwestern Henry County in northwest Illinois... Rock Island County in northwest Illinois... this includes the cities of... Rock Island... Moline... East Moline... southwestern Whiteside County in northwest Illinois... * until 745 PM CDT Friday * at 1139 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated flash flooding from a thunderstorm over the warned area. * Locations in the warning include but are not limited to Wheatland... Stanwood... Princeton... Mount Vernon... Mechanicsville... McCausland... Lowden... Low Moor... Long Grove... Lisbon... Grand Mound... Eldridge... Donahue... DeWitt... Clarence... Camanche... Calamus... Bennett... Erie... Cordova and Albany Rainfall estimated between 1 and 2 inches has fallen over much of the area centered on Interstate 80 between Iowa City and Geneseo. More thunderstorms with heavy rain will move through this area by early this afternoon. The heavy rains earlier this morning had already produced some minor street flooding in Davenport. Any additional heavy rains will likely result in flash flooding of streams and small river... as well as additional street flooding in urban areas. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A line of showers and thunderstorms will continue moving through eastern Iowa through this afternoon. Wind gusts to 50 mph are possible behind the showers and thunderstorms as they exit the area. These winds could occur well after the heaviest rain has ended. Wind gusts to near 50 mph have already been reported near Van Horne Iowa... in Benton County. Locations from Independence and Manchester... south to Iowa City and Williamsburg could be effected by these winds.
