	Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:20 AM CST on December 25, 2009 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Saturday... A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Saturday. * Timing... snow will continue today through Saturday... with slowly diminishing snowfall rates tonight and Saturday. Widespread blowing and drifting snow will be a problem... especially today and tonight. * Accumulations... storm totals of 13 to 20 inches are expected by Saturday morning... with higher drifts. * Wind and visibility... north to northwest winds today averaging 20 to 30 mph will cause considerable blowing and drifting snow... with near blizzard conditions at times in open areas. The winds in this area will decrease tonight and Saturday which should improve the visibility concerns... but the amount of snow will still produce drifting snow through Saturday morning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous... if not impossible at times. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
