The Flood Watch is now in effect for * portions of east central Iowa... northeast Iowa and southeast Iowa... including the following areas... in east central Iowa... Cedar... Johnson... Jones and Linn. In northeast Iowa... Dubuque. In southeast Iowa... Washington. * Through late tonight * additional rainfall amounts from 1 to 2 inches through this evening may lead to flooding along area rivers. Flooding of Urban and Small Stream drainage areas will also be possible due to blockages from snow and ice. * Rising water levels may also lead to potential ice jams on area rivers. * Significant ponding of water is possible in locations that receive amounts near 2 inches tonight. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Monitor later forecasts and take action if a Flood Warning is issued or flooding develops. |
