* moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast to begin during the afternoon hours today and persist through much of the evening hours tonight. The rainfall intensity will diminish by late Tuesday morning. The heaviest rain is expected from late this afternoon into the overnight hours tonight when widespread 1 to 2 inch amounts will be possible within the watch area. Localized heavier amounts up to 3 inches may accumulate by early Tuesday morning in some spots. This amount of rain may be sufficient to push the Chariton... south skunk rivers and smaller tributaries to flood stage towards the middle of the work week.
