	Areal Flood Watch
Statement as of 10:25 AM CST on November 16, 2009 ... Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday afternoon... The Flood Watch continues for * portions of south central Iowa and southeast Iowa... including the following areas... in south central Iowa... Appanoose... Lucas... Mahaska... Marion... Monroe and Wayne. In southeast Iowa... Davis and Wapello. * Through Tuesday afternoon * moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast to begin during the afternoon hours today and persist through much of the evening hours tonight. The rainfall intensity will diminish by late Tuesday morning. The heaviest rain is expected from late this afternoon into the overnight hours tonight when widespread 1 to 2 inch amounts will be possible within the watch area. Localized heavier amounts up to 3 inches may accumulate by early Tuesday morning in some spots. This amount of rain may be sufficient to push the Chariton... south skunk rivers and smaller tributaries to flood stage towards the middle of the work week. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
