	Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:02 AM CDT on March 20, 2010 ... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 1 PM CDT this afternoon... The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * Short term trends... light to moderate snowfall is expected through sunrise. Snowfall rates of up to one half inch per hour are possible. The back edge to the snow will move to a Newton... Osceola... Mount Ayr line by 7 am. * Storm total accumulations... accumulations will range from three to six inches with a few higher amounts near Des Moines and across the far southern border counties of Iowa. * Impacts... roads will be slippery and travel times to area destinations will be lengthened. Visibility will be reduced to under one half mile at times which will cause difficult travel conditions. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility... and use caution while driving.
