The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a
* Flood Watch for portions of south central Iowa and southeast
Iowa... including the following areas... in south central Iowa...
Appanoose... Lucas... Mahaska... Marion... Monroe and Wayne. In
southeast Iowa... Davis and Wapello.
* From noon CST today through Tuesday afternoon
* moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall is expected starting
this afternoon. The rain will persist overnight before weakening
in intensity on Tuesday. The heaviest rain is expected from late
this afternoon into the overnight when widespread 1 to 2 inch
amounts will be possible in the watch area with localized
heavier amounts. This amount of rain may be sufficient to push
the Chariton... south skunk rivers and smaller tributaries to
flood stage.
