Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:50 PM CDT on March 19, 2010
... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 1 am CDT Saturday...
The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow... which is in effect until 1 am CDT
Saturday.
* Timing... band of light to moderate snow generally along the
Interstate 80 corridor will continue through the rest of this
evening... then quickly taper off around or shortly after
midnight.
* Snow accumulations... generally expect additional snowfall
amounts around 1 to 3 inches.
* Winds... stiff northwest winds gusting 20 to 30 mph are expected
through tonight.
* Impacts... the gusty winds and blowing snow will likely reduce
visibilities to a mile or less... particularly over open areas.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
