... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Saturday evening
through Sunday afternoon...
... Freezing Rain Advisory will expire at noon CST today...
* timing... a wintry mix of precipitation is expected to
overspread portions of central and south central Iowa late
Saturday afternoon. The precipitation will change to all snow
late Saturday evening... and linger into Sunday. Gusty northwest
winds will bring the potential for blowing snow as well late
Saturday night into Sunday.
* Storm total snow/ice accumulations... a total of 3 to 5 inches
of snow can be expected Saturday night into Sunday from south
central into northeast Iowa... with 4 to 7 inches possible to the
southeast of that zone... mainly across southeast Iowa. In
addition... light to moderate ice accumulations are possible
Saturday evening mainly across far south central Iowa.
* Winds/visibility... gusty north to northwest winds will develop
Saturday night into Sunday. Patchy blowing snow could reduce
visibilities further in addition to falling snow.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
