...Dense fog advisory in effect from 1 am to 10 am CDT Friday...
The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a dense fog advisory...which is in effect from 1 am to 10 am CDT Friday.
* Timing...patchy fog will develop prior to midnight but will become more widespread and dense between midnight and 4 am. The fog advisory may need to be expanded depending upon how the fog develops.
* Visibilities...under one quarter mile by sunrise with near zero visibility in some areas.
* Impacts....visibilities may change suddenly over short distances as the fog initially develops. The fog will impact late night travel and the morning commute. Motorists should allow extra travel time.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down... use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
