At 1040 PM CDT...Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Concord to 6 miles south of Leigh...and moving east at 45 mph.

Dime size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms.

The total amount of rain that fell at the Norfolk Airport on Sunday August 31 was 1.34 inches. This sets a new daily record rainfall amount for the date. The previous record was 0.80 inches in 1963.
