Statement as of 11:41 PM CST on December 10, 2013
... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 am CST
* short term trends... light snow will end from northwest to
southeast during the next several hours. As the snow ends winds
will turn to north northwest and increase
substantially... resulting in bitter cold wind chills lasting
well into Wednesday morning.
* Storm total snow accumulations... snowfall will range from 1 to
* Winds/visibility/wind chills... winds will increase to 15 to 30
mph overnight. Visibility may be reduced to under 1 mile at
times with brief periods of lower visibility in blowing snow.
Wind chill values will fall to 20 to 25 below zero late tonight
* Impacts... roads will become snow covered and slippery with
blowing snow reducing visibility and slowing traffic at times.
With the cold wind chills... prolonged exposure could result in
frostbite or hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving. If you must venture outside... dress appropriately for
the cold wind chills expected with this storm system.
